OUR STORY

Officially launched in 2019, Laura- owner of DOG Training and Behaviour- has been helping dogs and their owners in all areas of dog-life from loose lead walking to recall, from resource guarding to car chasing, from "DON'T EAT THAT!" to "Why isn't he eating this?"

It is her mission to get to the root causes of behaviour, no matter how simple they may seem, to create a personal and individual plan to ensure success, working with the dog and owner in front of her. She uses science and evidence based methods to achieve the best results possible.

Laura believes that every dog deserves to be understood, cared for, loved and respected.

(Dogs are individuals!)

ABOUT LAURA

"Well...where do I start? I hope you're comfortable because this could take a while!

Like so many of us, I have always loved dogs. Every. Single. One. One of my earliest memories is being accidentally headbutted by an English Mastiff which resulted in me having a nose bleed. I lied to my mum (and the dog's owner), just so the dog wouldn't get into trouble!

Fast forward *ahem* many years, and I found myself falling in love with my ex's dogs, Bonnie and Kai. An 11st Dogue De Bordeaux and a firey English Bull Terrier, both with their fair share of behavioural issues. At the time, I was baffled by some of their antics and outbursts but it just made me love them more (even with little Kai trying to nip my legs when he was overly excited!)

With Kai passing, shortly followed by our beautiful giant, Bonnie, I said "no more dogs" (does that sound familiar?) but, sure enough, Reggie came into our lives, a larger than life rescue Cane Corso with a whole lot of character!

He is the reason I started my journey as a dog professional. He is my reason to 'be', my best friend and my excuse. He is my guardian, my jester and my world.

Without him, I may never have spent hours, days and weeks sitting in workshops and seminars, shadowing and volunteering at dog classes in my free time, cramming and studying at all hours, scrimping and saving to pay to take part in training courses and behavioural workshops.

I owe him everything. The only way to repay him is to help to change the lives of, not just dogs in situations like his, but all dogs"-Laura
